Found at Wally today : TulAmmo BrassMAXX 9mm , 115 grain FMJ , brass case , boxer primed. 100 rounds in an odd cylindrical plastic container ; price for 100 rounds : 23.97. Had to try it - when was the last time I saw 9 mm at $12 per box of 50? Years , for me. Seems too good to be true.

Any feed back re: pros and cons of this product would be appreciated.

P.S. If it were a steel case round I would not have considered it ; but brass and boxer at that price ...

I've shot their steel cased, cycles fine and makes a hole in the paper just fine for me.

I've used a couple hundred rounds of it in Glocks.

It's okay.

Ive not had any problem with their steel case .45, so I'd not hesitate to buy their brass ammo, esp if it was cheap. Im under no illusion that the steel case stuff is top quality, but I've never had a FTF and it always ejects just fine in my 1911. Im sure that its not target grade, but neither are my pistol skills, so it still shoots plenty well to demonstrate when Im using poor technique and when Im doing things right.

I have not chron'd it, but it feels wimpy. It's also feels inconsistent. I had 1k rounds of it, shot 300 so far

I think this is accurate. Kind of like the steel case cheap stuff they, and other Russian manufacturers, offer.

I had a malfunction in my Gen4 G26 that I think the Tulammo may have been to blame for, but I'm not sure because I had the Tulammo BrassMAXX and some CCI Blazer Brass all mixed loose so I don't know for sure which one was the last out when I had a failure to feed on the next round (lack of slide velocity from a lower charged round is what I figured it was).

But the rest has worked, and it's cheap range ammo, so...

I've tried the steel case in 9mm and 5.56mm. The rifle stuff worked great in my AR but the 9mm shot high and left out of three different pistols. I have no explanation for it - I switched to Blazer Brass in all three guns and they promptly went back to my usual POA/POI. Truly a weird day. I'll buy more 5.56 as I can shoot it without feeling like I have to pick up the casings, but I doubt I'll buy any more pistol ammo of theirs.

My shield doesn't seem to mind it at all...

They had the round can on the shelf yesterday at walturd, first I've seen in many months. Maybe it'll start showing up again...

All that I have tried is the steel cased stuff.

My AR eats the .223 just fine. The 9mm has performed well in all of my 9mm guns. My budget 1911's did not like the .45, but my Glock 21 and Springfield 1911 handle it just fine. My LCP does not like the steel .380 stuff and jams quite a bit on it.

I'd have no reservations about buying the brass stuff at all. It's cheap, kinda dirty, and not performance grade, but for plinking and punching holes in paper its fine for the price.

Have used a lot of the 9mm in both steel and brass. Don't recall any problems in several pistols I've shot it through.

TulAmmo BrassMaxx runs fine in my Glock 17 and CZ 75B; the TulaAmmo 45ACP steel case runs great in my Gen 4 Glock 21, but the indoor ranges near here won't let you shoot it

Yeah it works fine. But typical Russian, its dirty.

With their steel case it always stinks up a storm and smells bad, but shoots just fine. Cleaning always seems to take a bit more time.

But for cheaper practice ammo it works great. BTW there is plenty of better ammo for around $260/1K out there. I've seen some at Wally's, and others when on sale. So yeah $12 per 50 us good but not a huge difference from better more consistent ammo.

The only Russian ammo I've shot was Brown Bear, Silver Bear and LVE (all in 9x18 Makarov). All three were filthy dirty and smelled like an old-fashioned grease trap behind a mess hall. :barf:

Only problems I've had is small frame 380's FTF about 60%. Other calibers just fine, but also very dirty
