hello all

I'm having hard time picking a tumbler to buy

I'm looking for one that will last a good while and was wondering which ones that most people on here are using.

I use Dillon's CV-500 Vibratory Case Cleaner. I've had it over 10 years and give it quite a workout! You can't beat Dillon and their no BS warrantee!!!

Well, since you didn't provide us with a dollar amount to stay with, I'd recommend the Dillon. It's amongst the best out there with very few issues unlike the Frankfort/Midway tumblers.

I got a Frankford Arsenal kit from Midway. Came with 3# corn cob media, tumbler, bucket, little bottle of polish, and sifter. Has worked great for many years.

I started with a Frankford Arsenal kit, but broke it when I fell and dropped it. Tried to fix and, oh well.

Bought a Lyman Pro 1200 Turbo for $40, and it vastly outperforms the Frankford by orders of magnitude! Still use the FA media separator and bucket, it works great.

Thumlers Tumbler - UV10 vibrating tumbler. The base is open and the motor has a cooling fan on it. I use a cheap timer set to 3 hours to prevent it from running for 2 or 3 days. I took off the second set of stops so worst case scenario it would run once and not run again for 21 hours! It is pretty quiet but I still run it in the utility room and not in the house.

I have two Lyman 1200's. I've been using the one for 25+ years, the other was just given to me.

The older Lyman 1200 has gotten a little noisier, but still works fine.

I have had the Midway 1292 for years with tons of use and, guess what, No Issues - not one. I can't speak for Frankford.

Putting the tumbler on a timer is a great idea, Benz...hadn't thought of that. I've got a little "brass" sign that I hang on the basement door to remind me it's on, but I like the timer idea too. Good one!
