I was at FBMG yesterday and they have a shload of new pistols in stock, including the new tuxedo Sig Platinum Elite. I am on record at THR badmouthing the the Sig 1911's, I have to eat my words; well, in regards to the tuxedo Sig anyway.;)

This is a damn fine pistol.

Larry let me field strip it, leading to some sweaty nervousness during reassembly. Larry said "if you leave an idiot mark you're buying it." No big deal right? Well the spring was so strong it took two of us and a screwdriver to put it back together. All I could think of was "I don't have $900, I don't have $900, I don't have $900..."

Anyway, a lot of the things I criticized about the Sig 1911's seem to have been fixed. Except for the external extractor, but I guess you can't have everything.:)

Quite the beauty isn't it? The pictures really don't do it justice at all. In the pictures it looks like some kind of pimp gun. In person it has a beauty all of its own. $900 is a pretty good price for the model as well.

I have the GSR1911 C3.

Before working here at Sig I never would have bought a 1911 but there was just something about this 1911 that screamed at me "You will F#$% BUY ME" and I did. I love this thing to hell and back, I have one complaint, but it's one that I can just work out anyway. The hammer (to my knowledge) isn't poliched like the rest of the gun i.e. the slide and frame. the hammer actually dicolors/rusts :banghead: but with a lil scrubbing and some lube it should solve that problem by putting a protective layer on it, but I really would like to get it "finished" so that I really wouldn't have to cgo through all that trouble, though it's not really much.

But I have to agree with you guys it's a wonderful gun.
