I received my two CMP Bavarian Forestry Police rack grade M1 Carbines today. They are pretty nice. Unfortunately the barrel band on the SG is stripped. I can't tighten it down. Maybe the CMP will send me one.
Now to the carbines....The first is a six digit Inland with mostly Inland parts. Barrel looks good. It has been reblued and has the plum colored trigger housing. Here are out of the box photos.

The next Carbine is a Saginaw that is also blued with most parts being SG. It has the plum colored trigger housing too. Here are the photos.

The funny this is the Saginaw came with an Inland highwood stock and the Inland came with a Saginaw stock. So I cleaned up the Carbines and switched stocks. Here is how they look now....

A big Thank You to the CMP !!!

Very nice. I really need to get going on a CMP carbine while they last.

Give them a call about the stripped barrel band, they are usually very good about replacing parts. They replaced an oprod on my service grade garand within a few days, no questions asked.

Thanks for sharing your Carbines with us. My Grandfather had one that he would let me shoot. My Dad said that he brought it back with him from Germany after the surrender in 1945. He was a 1SG in a combat engineer company. I am not sure if it was his assigned weapon or not. After he passed away in 1970 I understand he had it buried with him. That is the story we were told. Anyone who would know what actually happened to it are now gone so I am sticking with the "buried with him" scenario. Great guns! Good Luck with your Carbines
