Two newbie type questions...

1. I often see online ads for handguns that are "32 shot" and "40 shot". Are these some sort of garden guns that shoot pellets?

2. I have also observed ads for "smooth barrel" revolvers. What possible use could this be for? Or, are the barrels just shot out?

I've never seen such ads. Do you have an example?

My only guess is air soft, paintball guns, BB guns or something like that.

The description of the first includes "garden gun chambered in 32 Rimfire Shot." Or, a rimfire cartridge size 32 filled with shot, ie small pellets. It's a tiny shotshell.

Smoothbore refers to the barrel lacking any rifling, much the same as a shotgun.

I may be mistaken here, but isn't a smooth bore handgun a NFA item?

The revolver appears to be C&R, originally shipped to London, England and currently at a Cabela's in Billings. Under the description is stated:

Description:
ATF correspondence for removal from purview of the National Firearms Act.

At a gun show several years ago I passed up a garden shotgun in 9mm rim fire. Afterwards I discovered that Fiocchi still makes the ammo.
