Senate votes to allow licensed handgun carry in national parks: Sixty-seven Senators voted for the Coburn amendment, which says that persons can carry firearms in national parks and wildlife refuges to the same extent that they are allowed to carry by state law. All Republicans except Alexander (Tenn.) voted for the amendment. So did Independent Bernie Sanders (Vermont), and 27 Democrats. Including, I am proud to say, both Udall and Bennett of Colorado.

Still has to go to the House, but this vote indicates it should get 300+ votes there.

The GOA is taking credit for it's passage. From an e-mail they sent me.."GOA was the driving force behind this amendment and lobbied Senators
hard prior to the vote to get the provision passed.'' I appreciate anything they actually did but I doubt they were ''the driving force behind it''.

All you TN members be sure to thank the RINO Alexander for his stab in the back and for sudden anti-gun position.

Excellent news; I've updated the open threads on this in Activism and General Gun Discussions.
