sitting made about 120 bullets today for my future gun lol. (its not even built yet lol)

all the shooting ones are beterrn 525-527 grain, just letting the lube soak in over night then going to size them in the morning.

gonna go take a ibprofen and sit and watch the boobtube

once i get my rifle finnished il be shooting them out of a Rigby sporting rifle. 1-18 twist green river barrel.

the bullets fit beutifuly in the barrel after sizing. id say there is maybe half a thou on each side of the bullet when its in the barrel (didnt drop it in just at the tip lol)

i really want to hit the person at lyman that made these handles. what idiot puts little steel rivits through the wooden handles into the Steel handles the wood fits over. steel conducts heat very well. i have little burn marks on my hands now from the rivits. *mumbles* pulled them out after i was finnished. thinking of putting them back in and wrapping the handles in leather.

I had a senior moment, Aries. I already KNEW you were getting that Rigby.

I would be interested to hear how those shoot when everything comes together.

I chose a Volunteer over the Rigby because I, too, intended mine to be primarily a hunting rifle and wanted an attached ramrod. The downside of that choice was the bedding complications which accompany multiple barrel bands and a full stock. I finally got mine right, or good enough, but if I had it to do over, I'd probably go the route you are.

i opted to go a little unconventional. i got them to install an under rib, and ramdor tubes and got a ramrod hole drilled in the stock. it may look a bit different. but i think it will be ok. there ia a TON of meat on the forarm of the stock so its all good.

i got all the parts on friday, getting the tang and barrel seated properly right now. gotta get the underlug holes drilled so i can lock the barrel down. and fit the lock.

i want to find a pice of ebony or some type of really dark wood for a end cap on the forarm.

i gotta call the guys and ask if they charged me for a ramrod hole since when it arrived this stock they had forgot to drill one and i had to goto a friend of my dads to get it drilled, and they forgot the trigger guard. so i gotta get them to send that. oh well. i want to get my GF to take some picks with her digicam then il see how it goes if i can use my crummy $30 digital cam to take pics of it.

keep you posted.
