Does anyone remember that rifle on Gunbroker that looked like someone had grafted a table leg as a hand guard?

IIRC, the "mare's leg" Lee Enfield with the huge flash hider is also the prop "electro gun" the Jawas shot at R2D2 to disable him for capture and resale early in the first Star Wars film.

yes and No, the gun in the picture is the weapon the "Ion Blaster" prop gun was built on. but that is not the Stars wars prop. And it's missing a small but important part.

That sawed off enfield is meant for use as a Mills Bomb (grenade) launcher while insde an armored vehicle.

the missing bit is the metal hook at the forward end of the stock, that was hooked over the edge of the hatch/ armor/whatever so that the structure of the vehicle takes the recoil and not the shooter.

Red Gun... YIKES!

I like how their auction description says they will paint any gun for $130 but to "use discretion!"... I guess they learned that the hard way.

Told ya'll it was Ugly! Thanks for finding the pic guys I tried for an hour.

I also thought that painting red or blue like a practice gun was against the law. Kinda goes back to the can't look like a cane and be a gun thing as someone else inquired.

I nominate

It's even named after the next POTUS. EDIT: Forgot the Chuckling smiley and to mention that it won't be because I voted for him.

Re: the "red gun"

It takes a special breed of idiot to turn a S&W M36 3" sq butt pistol into a gun that will gather NO BIDS when you start the bidding at $100. I mean, even if that gun had no finish whatsoever it would probably be worth $100 if it was mechanically sound. As it is, I'm sure the bidders were like "if he's dumb enough to spray paint it red, he probably has no clue as to whether it functions right" or "he's simply psychotic." One or the other.

:scrutiny:

Buy it now for $350. Your *** must be crazy.

No kidding. If he just wanted to demonstrate the paintjob, he could have picked any cheap gun, a Hi-point, a Jennings, or if he really wanted a revolver, any of the H&R break-tops available for $30.
