I recently bought a 2016 manufacture date stainless New Model Blackhawk in .357 with the 4.62 inch barrel. I was looking for a flap holster to use as I go bushwhacking through the wet part of Western Washington. After doing some measurements, I decided to give the UM Sidekick large frame hip holster, for the Ruger Alaskan and S&W 500, a try. I bought the # 81531 (right hand to fit the S&W 480/500 with 4-5 inch barrel).
I am pleased to report that it fits my Blackhawk like a glove. The holster rides well, is very protective of the revolver and the flap fully snaps closed. An excellent value, and it is far more protective of the handgun than the # 7 Sidekick open top holster I had formerly been using.
