Uncle Mike's "Pistol Rugs"

I was thinking about putting my "truck gun" (along with a desiccant pack) in an Uncle Mike's Pistol Rug zippered pouch. Would this be a good idea for what would amount to long-term storage? Would it do anything to harm the finish on the pistol?

Depends on the gun's finish, your climate, and how long you let it go without a protectant wipe down.

The pistol has been hard-chromed and I generally try to give it a wipe with a silicone cloth every couple of weeks. The vehicle, itself, is in a heated garage when not in use.
