Well, you get the picture. I like front-stuffers and I dearly love simplicity. The fewer things to break, the fewer worries, just ask any of us old coots from the early days of the M-16 and Vietnam. Also love front-stuffers, and the one that has intrigued me, and evaded me, until now, has been the underhammer. Finally got my hands on not one, but two, a Hopkins & Allen Off Hand, in .45 cal, and an H&A Buggy Rifle in .36 Cal. So, now a deer gun and a squirrel gun - used, of course. Problem is, the Buggy Rifle’s rear sight went AWOL with the previous owner :(, and I can’t find a source for either the sight, or the dimensions to get a suitable replacement. Any ideas? Be most grateful, folks. :D

My go to place for muzzle loading supplies is the Log Cabin Shop in Lodi, Oh.

They have all sorts of parts for replacement or building your own longrifle. If they do not have the original part, they will suggest a suitable replacement.

I put a Thomson Center tang peep sight on mine years ago. It required me to put a taller front sight so I put a hooded one on.
I'd include a pic but tinypic is not cooperating. Windows 10 issue? or what?

The original sight base is .367" front to back across the base and the height to the bottom of the v notch is .307" and about .375" to the top of the sight. I think the sight bases are pretty standard 3/8".
My original front sight is .325" from base to top of the blade.

Here is a pic of the sights that came on my H&A. Sorry about the size; I'm still struggling with tinypic after switching to Windows 10
