This is just an informational post. I bought a Savage .22 bolt action for cheap target practice. I was really annoyed that it only came with one 5-round mag. I checked online and was going to have to pay anywhere from $15-$20 for a 10-round mag plus a shipping charge, then wait for it to come in and hope it worked. This morning I stopped at a new Wal-Mart in my area that I haven't been to, just to check on ammo stock and prices. They had mags for common rifles...picked up a 10-rounder for $10. They had mags for Ruger, Marlin, Mossberg, Savage, Remy.
Unexpected good luck in retail store...

That's cool... I just called Remington and and they sent me two brand new mags for FREE... 
But then, I do have the 597 and they're quite nice about replacing the magazines... so, now I have 3 perfectly functional mags...
Now, when my Model 5 comes in... that will be a different story... Then, my son likes the Stevens model 300, so getting extra mags for those will be added to the shopping list... Thanks for the tip and lead...
