I received a new AR mag from aerostar last week to give a try in my 50 Beowulf and other ARs. If this should be in a different area Mods feel free to move.
The magazine feels solid with good construction and finish. Loading was easy regardless of caliber. I tested it in an Alexander upper mated to a YHM lower in 50 beowulf, a DPMS Sportical in 5.56, and a JSE upper with Tactical machining lower with a 223 wylde chamber. Ammo was - 50 Beowuld - Alexander arms 335gr raineir bullet, AA 350gr xtp, some handloads with 350 gr xtp and a couple of handloads with a 500gr Powrbelt; 223 - american Eagle 5.56, Hornady superformance 223, Handloads with a 53 gr Vmax, and handloads with a 69gr SMK.
Magazine had a positive latch when inserted into the guns, even with a closed bolt and full mag. It fed flawlessly in all 3 guns with all types of ammo. Even though many have said that you can use any mag for the Beowulf, I have found that most other mags dont work 100%. Standard mags would function but have a fail to feed of about 1 in 10(this is true of both the stock mags that came with the DPMS and the many Pmags I have tried). The Unimag worked just as well as the Alexander ones specifically for it. The DPMS and JSE both fed without a hitch. Mags dropped free from all guns with no hang ups.
Bottom line is, this mag did exactly as it was supposed to with no issues. I will put more rounds through it in the next few weeks and give an update on it over time as I use it more.
In the pics the Unimag is on top in the side on view, and top right with black follower on the top view
