That's pretty cool. I had no idea anyone besides Norinco was still making SKSs. The VEPR shotgun is neat, too. Pretty much a factory converted Saiga. The longer-barrelled ones are a bit funny looking, though, but that's just me.

I'd take a newly made Russian SKS over a Saiga any day. I can't imagine they'd be any more difficult to import.

Sign me up for one of those 91/30 carbines too... I wonder if when the surplus ones dry up there would still be enough demand to make importing these worthwhile, and what the price point would look like.

I've heard (take this with a grain of salt, it was someplace on the internet) that to newly produce Mosins to pre-war quality standards would cost in excess of $700 per rifle. And when you can buy seven originals for that money... well... not much demand, eh? :p

Yeah, a $700 Mosin would be a tough sell unless it was something really special.

That said, those Zastava M70 Mauser style rifles don't cost an arm and a leg, so if the tooling is there (and being Russia, I imagine it is lol) it's really just down to material, labour costs, and maintenance of said tooling.

I hope they're better at making guns than advertisements:

The semi-auto hunting assault rifle (Huh?)"OP-SKS" is designed for middle (medium?) and big games (what games?) in commercial purposes (sporting purposes?) in different weather and climatic conditions (redundancy, anyone?) at the environment temperature from -50° up to +50° (Ooookay...). The assault rifle is created based on the famous SKS-45 Simonov semi-auto rife and is output (Chambered?) for a cartridge of the caliber 7,62х39.

The automatic reloading of the rifle is carried out due to use of the energy of powder gases moved from the bore into the gas chamber and the energy of the return spring.

The bore is locked by warp of the bolt (what???), when the bolt carrier slides length wisely (as opposed to length foolishly?). The hammer-type firing mechanism provides shooting by single shots and saving the gun (from what, exactly?).

The flag-type safety device is situated inside the trigger guard of the firing mechanism body.

The feeding of the rifle is carried out from the fixed magazine. Inside the stock from the side of butt there is a case with the accessories destined for cleaning and stripping the gun.

Yeah, not impressed so far.....

The OP-SKS and Mosin rifles are refurbished old stock weapons.
Vepr-12, OTOH, is a newly made tacticool shotgun, which is highly regarded in Russia due to better mfg quality compared to Saiga-12.
