Browsing local gun shop today and they have a beautiful M48 that is tagged as unissued. All matching #'s - wood is gorgeous. Really a nice looking rifle. Priced at $359 which seemed about 75-100 too high to me, but I haven't researched how many of the unissued rifles are still floating around or what price they are going for.

Receiver said M48 not M48A on it.

Might look awful nice next to my Yugo 24/47..... :)

I've seen them locally on sale for $275, and since I don't seem to be seeing as many lately, I guess they are moving at that price.

These were a dime a dozen a few years back, and they're still cheap. However, if it's an example with a blonde stock, little cosmoline and truly mint condition it might go for that much. I remember the first batch of these, including the one I got, were a cut above the ones that came later.

Stock wasn't blonde, but wasn't walnut like my Yugo either. No cosmoline on it - someone has gone through the clean up already. I started wondering last night if it is a Mitchell's. I might go back and check it out again and see if I can talk them down.

This place is notorious for over pricing rifles. They have DPMS and Bushmaster AR's that they sticker at over 1200 and won't budge. The kicker is that they are as basic of an AR as you can get, nothing special.
