Unpopular EDC?

Going off of your own personal experience at a certain time and then blanketing that experience as the normal response for everyone else is just asinine. Everyone’s experience with recoil is perceived differently. And your examples were quite ridiculous to compare.

Different times in my lifetime, I had different reactions to perceived recoil on the same weapon and loads. So if my own experience differs, why wouldn’t others do the same. I would never try to assimilate other’s experiences into my own. One reason I always use “my experience”or “in my case” etc. Me thinking that everyone else has the same experience is self centered or egotistical.
It doesn't appear that you fired, own, or had much if any experience MK40 to question anything I've stated. It's common held belief and experience that the heavier the firearm the better it will handle recoil.

Are you nitpicking something to argue about? It's not that serious. I only gave my firsthand experience, and it wasn't meant to start a back and forth debate.

It's Friday and the start of the weekend. Lighten up and enjoy your weekend :)

Ruger ec9s. Was a little late to the pocket nine party. There are plenty option of similar size with higher capacity but I like the gun so I’m not fussing.

I have carried some interesting guns though. Hp22a, PP 6.35 (32 auto), llama mini max 45, llama .380 micro max, Grendel p10, Keltec p11, and since I’m primarily a revolver guy there’s been a bunch of those too

The pistol I consider to be my favorite carry pistol is a S&W Shorty 40.It's like a 4006 but it's a Performance Center gun. They shortened it to a 3 1/2 inch barrel, shortened the grip, fitted everything up good and absolutely worked magic with the trigger. For the past week I've been carrying a Sig P226 that got traded in by the local police dept. They were issued P226's in 40 S&W but the lone female officer threw enough of a fit to get the dept new P320's in 9mm so she would be able to shoot it more because the 40 has too much recoil. They traded in 5 P226's at the LGS and I couldn't pass on the one I got.The price was right. So now I guess I carry two pistols you don't see very often.

My only carry pieces in my 20's and 30's were a Taurus Model 85 (steel with hammer) and a commercial Russian Makarov in 380.

Neither was perfect for carry (kinda heavy), but they both went bang every time. I carry lighter and more convenient pieces now, but that's all they are is lighter and more convenient.

Still have the Mak. The 85 was stolen in a burglary.

CZ75 compact today. DA/SA but carried in SA. It’s not my everyday carry, just everyday I’m not required to be socially acceptable. Shield .45 for those occasions. Neither of those are terribly out of vogue, they just aren’t in vogue either, particularly the DA/SA.

I have Ruger LC9s Pro that I'm glad I never traded it off. I added night sights to mine and shoot well with it. Ruger discontinued it in favor of the less expensive EC9s with milled into the slide sights that are non-changeable.

It's not a pretty looking gun and I doubt it will ever star in a movie like the Glock & Beretta 92 has in the past.

90% of the time I carry an HK P30SK 9mm. Once in a while I carry the bigger brother- a P30, also a 9mm. If I need to go small, there is the Kahr MK9.

They all have a similar double action trigger system, which I like for commonality during a stressful moment.

Let's see... One is big, bulky, and heavy, with a long trigger pull and no more capacity than a G19. The other is a Croatian import from a now-hated company, in a chambering that has less capacity than 9MM and less power than .45ACP. Both fit my hand like a glove, I shoot both reasonably well, and have never had a problem with either.

Most of the people I know who carry, carry some flavor of Glock.
I'm the odd man out with my Hipower. I guess that makes it seem unpopular, but that's not why I carry it!

My AMT Backup was unpopular with me as a semi-EDC.
Was issued an acquired Helwan as an EDC for a couple three days--better than nothing, but not exactly easy to tote around.
I can't imagine a Nambu would be a popular EDC.

I carried an FEG/SMK .380 as an on duty back up gun for many years, and a S&W 4013 as an off duty.

Neither of those were super popular when you could buy them new.

Now it’s a CZ 75 SP-01. That model isn’t as common as the other CZ-75 variants, but it isn’t uncommon either.

Stay safe.

I'm currently waiting on a new holster since the last one bit the dust but my EDC over the last 6 years has been my HK Mark 23.

When I first got my CCW permit all I had suitable was my Firestar M40 and FEG PA63 so that is what I carried back then. I still occasionally carry the Firestar M40 and M43 but the PA63 stays in the safe. I also have a Sig P938 and RIA 3 /12" Compact 1911 that I sometimes carry too. The Firestar's are in-between the P938 and compact 1911 as far as size and weight goes. I also sometimes carry my Taurus M856 revolver too. But most days I carry my Canik Elite SC.
