Aguilar said. "And now I'm out of a job because of one interview? It's like in one swoop it ruined my reputation. It ruined my name."

typical, does not want to accept responsibility for her own actions.

I bet she has acted in a similar matter in other interviews. Just this time she picked the wrong demographic to piss off!

Aguilar said that most street reporters are expected to "go out there and ask the hard questions. As journalists, shouldn't we able to do the same thing on the inside? We shouldn't live in fear. Because once you put fear into a reporter, how can you expect that person to pursue the truth, pursue the facts? We cannot as reporters be Jekyll and Hyde, one person on the inside, another person on the outside. Those plantation days are over."

What a pathetic loser. Good riddance.

This made my day. She STILL doesn't see what she did was wrong both professionally and morally. She deserves everything she had coming.

Good, she got what she deserved, hopefully she will admit her mistake, move on, and do better.

They should have wacked the upper management too.

"ruined my career"

Well Whaaa! Whaaa! Whaaa!

Asking the "Hard Questions" doesn't mean berating and attacking...And it should involve asking questions that offer both sides of an issue.

Lots of places out there that need a good manicurist!

"Let me just put it this way," she said. "I'm going to use any method I can to regain my reputation."

There is a quick and easy way for her to start the process of rebuilding (not regaining) her reputation . . . . . publicly apologize to the person she 'interrogated' and to all other listeners to her news broadcast at the time.

That will be the first baby step to recovery . . . but. . it is a 12 step process :D

Okay, at the risk of getting piled on, I just viewed the video in question and don't see a whole lot what the fuss is about. Sure she is biased and anti-gun ("are you trigger happy?" or some such) however the property owner came off as a very sympathetic character in the story. All of his answers to her questions were well reasoned...she could have cut those out when they edited the story. He remarked how he had never shot anyone before and was protecting himself. The reporter even mentioned in her VO that he was buying the new shotgun because he was now in fear for his life. I don't see why a reporter would lose her job over this. There has to be more to the story...something going on behind the scenes at the station. Or maybe I'm missing something.

I must've missed what she did but, both she and another "older" female reporter at the same station were fired (both apparently over 40).

Wonder if age and gender had anything to do with it. Wonder if they'll be replaced with younger, buxom reporters?

She's undoubtedly going to file suit against her previous employer...

I just think it's really sad that I gave this company 14 years and I did about 6,000 interviews," Aguilar said. "And now I'm out of a job because of one interview? It's like in one swoop it ruined my reputation. It ruined my name."

What is this world coming to when a star can't humiliate one insignificant little old man. Why can't people understand that you're important and he isn't.
