I have grown tired of keeping all of my guns locked away in a safe. I have long desired to have a display of some sort. About my situation:

1. I have a very good security system with motion detection, cameras, window and door sensors, and two dogs.

2. There are some guns I am unwilling to display for fire protection reasons.

3. Ammo locked away in safes.

I came across this setup from Hold Up Displays. They had a 15% of coupon code. The order shipped the very next morning after ordering. The box arrived and was super heavy. This is when I first realized the quality of this system. They have pre packaged arrangements but I selected my own.

Instructions for install were straight forward and easy. Stud finder. Drill bit. Level. And a helper.

Once I had the first of five slat pieces hung I was able to hang the rest without help.

Pictures do not do this display justice. It is amazing and will surely be a talking piece at the Super Bowl party this weekend. I think it is worth every penny paid and I’m glad to be able to display a small portion of my collection. I plan to rotate different guns through.

Displayed are:

Springfield M1A Loaded
Taylor Smokewagon Deluxe in 45 Colt
1956 Ruger Flatgate Single Six
Beretta M9A3 with G10 grips and skeleton hammer
Kimber Aegis Elite Custom
Remington R1

Maybe it's just the lighting but, the background flag seems to take a lot away from the firearms, visually.

In any case, it's a cool way to be able to view your favorites on a daily basis. Something that I whole heartedly endorse any time it can be accomplished responsibly.

Yes, the guns tend to disappear against the background. Do these come with a solid background? After all, the guns themselves should be the focus of the display.

It's been a long time, but I think a yellow band arlund the neck, sp it can beseen from a distance.

Nice display you set up there!
My only concern would be if this could be easily seen from a window. There will always be some low life that will try to break in if they see somthing of intrest unfortunately.
The inert gernades I have, the hand strap is painted blue.

With regards to the grenade, countless websites sell them just like this with no special colors or markings. They have the bottom drilled out. This was bought from a local army surplus store.

Yes, you can find them at gun shows. They are just commercial castings with expended practice fuzes. Real WW2 collector grenades are quite pricey. The bodies, by themselves, are not regulated as destructive devices even if they have closed bottoms.

When you buy one of those affairs, hoy many of the arms come with it?

I might use one with a more basic background for project guns.

Until 1947, Inert rounds were pained solid black. After that, they were painted with some portion blue.
Modern ("egg") grenade bodies are available in blue as a weight simulator. Those are typically hollow as a Fuze, Grenade, Training can be inserted, live or expended.
The "lemon" bodied grenades were usually just in raw steel when used as inert weight or with the training fuze.

I would love to have a standing wood rack armory style that I could set all my Mosin and stuff side by side. It's a pain when the safe is full and some in the back don't get the love they should because but when I'm away and the alarm trips off because of my cats getting too frisky or a thunderstorm it brings me peace to know they are in a safe.

Especially when I see a news report like this on serial burglars.....

Which brings up another point. My friend has gun stickers all over his car, the stick family of guns sticker, NRA sticker, the 2nd amendment the original homeland security sticker and so on. To me that is just advertising "follow me home and case my car and house out".

I'd like to display some of my collection, but I get a little hesitant because you never know who might look at it and tell a buddy how nice your guns look and he tells a buddy and before long, a thief gets word of what you have and decides he needs it. A good alarm and cameras are good, but if they are quick and have hoodies and masks its really hard to get a positive id and even if they do, the guns may be long gone when they are caught. I think your display is spectacular but I am still on the fence about displaying mine. I heard of a guy in the upstate here that has a nice glass front display with impact glass in front. That would be the way to go. We install windows now that you can not break out with a hammer, but nothing is burglar PROOF. You can get burglar resistant.
