BrocLuno,
I have a 7.7 Arisaka with a chrome bore that I am in love with. It has been customized and now sports a Mannlicher stock and a few other bells and whistles. Out of my entire collection it has taken more deer than all the rest combined...................It loves 3031..... Take care and God bless cordell

Yeah, they are fun and light and easy to work on. What's not to like? Quite a bit different than the Model 1917 which are, by comparison, heavy and much more stout as far as metal use, etc.

Of the two, I'd rather be hit with an Arisaka :neener: But, if I were in a battle, I'm not sure which I would rather have  As long as I didn't have to hump it too far, probably the 17. It's a beast, but I don't think there is a much tougher battle rifle? It's built like a big crow bar. I don't think there are a lot of doors you could not bust in with one? And, some AP 06 and there isn't a lot of casual battle armor you could not mess with :)

Longshot, Your rifle turned out just excellent! I have thought of your project from time to time and I am glad to see the great results.

I'm going hunting next weekend. Mrs. Skyhorse set up the hunt as a Christmas present and the freezer has the space. I have a few rifles to choose from, The one I'm taking with me is my 1917.

Great job on your rifle!
