Found out last week my university has a rifle club, so went to their "come and try" evening.

(.22LR at 25 yards).

Great news! Keep it up, glad to hear that it's a sponsored activity.

You did save the target, didn't you?

Post a pic.

Will do, when I can find a scanner.

OK, here's the pic :)

The target on the left/top was my first, the right/bottom my second (after being told not to squint).

Oh, I thought you "had to use a gun", as in self defense. Good to hear that's not the case. Well, mail your local politician and you'll hopefully be able to do that alot more.

Good shooting, iapetus!

Your second target was really the better as most of the shots were in a small group. Grouping is what matters not where on the target they are, initialy.

To help with not sqinting with your off eye (both should be open and relaxed) put a piece of translucent tape on you shooting glasses over the center of the off eye. That will fuzz the image forceing you to use your dominant eye.

Breath control and sque-e-e-e-ze.

This sounds very much like a copy of an old U.S. Army ROTC range.

Have fun!!!

Next time, ask them about proper use of shooting jacket, and rifle sling.

I never got up to speed on that, but that's what this is all about.
