The butt end being wide enough, one could use it as a Cricket bat.

Provided one actually liked Cricket, and understood how the game works.

I can't believe this thread almost died!!!

Right you are Mr. Bojangles!
This was always a hoot to read and most everyone who is familiar with the weapons cited get a laugh out of it.
I've read it half a dozen times over the last few years and always laugh till my ribs hurt each time including this time. GREAT STUFF!

I was using mine yesterday as a rest for my 10-22. Fixed bayonet and shoved it almost muzzle deep in the dirt, decent height for standing shooting.

For humiliating some AR15 guys. When they start dissing it, say, OK. Let's compare. We each shoot a 5 round group with our rifle, and then we trade, and shoot the other guy's rifle.

He with the smallest aggregate group gets to keep both rifles.

:D

It ain't the gun, it's the nut behind the bolt that makes it work.

Did you ever find it? :neener: I can usually find mine after a round or two from a .458Lott or equivalent...but it's usually lying on the ground beside the rifle. :D

We should not be too concerned about what we can afford.
Even with a good job, many people buy rifles which shoot only lower-priced ammo.

Ahh, the bayonet is also the perfect screwdriver for adjusting the right side of the carburetor on a Ford V8.

To be historically accurate the Official Designation of the Mosin is " "LEATHERMAN"OV MOSIN NAGANT( UTILTY) " M 91/30, the Russian field manual of it's uses weighes 17.6 pounds

we use em fer fence posts. extend bayo, and stick em in the ground. then string wire. have a 600 yd line of em at our place, one every 15 '.
