I got an e-mail bulletin from U.S. Firearms. They say they have made an agreement with Remington to manufacture the 1858 and 1875 Remingtons. Sounds like good news if the prices are right. They also have some other stuff of interest coming up. They are also selling parts for the guns they make so there may now be a parts source for some of the old timers like the Colt Lightning rifle. I hope USFA doesn't get overextended like some companies and end up in the tank. If they play it cool and don't bury themselves in the debt hole, they could become a major player in the industry. (One of Bill Ruger's main business axioms was to avoid borrowing money; it seems to have worked out.)

Jim, do you have an idea about the projected cost of the 1858 Remington? Recently, some members have alluded to this gun, but I have no idea about its recommended price. If it is 200 dollars more than the ROA, I would consider purchasing one, but that is a "purdy penny" to pay for a caplock revolver. Even though I am a stubborn Ruger fan, I am not so stupid as to ignore a quality rival to the ROA. This admission may cause some of my critics to suffer a cardiac arrest, but I try to be honest. Thanks.
