Hi all,

I did some searching in the forums and online and haven't been able to find a definitive answer yet, so I'm hoping the experts here can help me out! I'm looking to deer hunt with my 870 Express and wanted to get a fully rifled barrel. I'm on a budget and Remington's barrels are pretty pricey. I have found that Mossberg makes great replacement barrels for the 870 for much less. The main problem I'm having right now is finding an affordable barrel in stock!

So, here's what I've found so far that fits into my price range. It doesn't say "870" anywhere so I was wondering if I could use this barrel with my 870 or if I have to specifically purchase a Mossberg barrel that explicitly says "870". http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/47054-1.html

I appreciate your help!

99% of Mossberg barrels are not compatible with Remington 870's. The barrel nut is completely different on both of them.

Mossberg does make A barrel for the Remington 870, but it's a "tacticool" breacher barrel with the breacher break on the end.

Try searching on Gunbroker. You can usually find slightly used barrels for a decent price if you look.

Mossberg makes several different slug barrels for the 870, some rifled and some not. If you have trouble locating one you can order it directly from Mossberg, but they will charge full MSRP.

^ id say thats not a bad deal for a cantilever barrel

but the real question is, where can a guy find an elusive 870 muzzle loader barrel?
