This article has been posted pointing to lead projectiles as being harmful to bald eagles and calling for the public to write letters to congressional representatives and ask that "lead-free rounds be required by law, following other states like California."

Please help write letters/emails letting your representatives. Otherwise we may be restricted to non lead rounds in the future.

This is correct and necessary. I have been worried for a few years now, that things like moving California Condors to the Kiabab plateau would trigger a demand for lead-free ammo. The results of the CA lead ban are entirely inconclusive, and there is absolutely no data of any kind to say that these birds have more or less lead consumption than others, but they are willing to say that lead is the cause anyway. No bueno.

Guys, don't rest easy and think to yourselves that it can't happen here. Ask people in Colorado where complacency got them.

I read an article in the LA times that 29 eagles were killed in utah by west Nile viruse. They should ban Mosquitos.

On a more serious note they said I that article (ill find and link it later) that the 29 deaths and deaths that might occur subsequently won't affect the overall health of the population. This an occasional death which might be attributes to another cause should be kept in perspective.

Make sure to spread the word at your local gun shops, shooting ranges, work, Church, facebook, wherever you can and get people active NOW. Aside from the ballistic difference the cost of the lead free rounds is pretty ridiculous from what I've seen.
