VA Judge Doesn't Buy "Self Defense" Claim

Byron, you make an excellent point and that point is taken. However, like I said, I was just playing "Devil's Advocate" and looking at it as a prosecutor/anti-gunnner would.

If I saw something shiny coming from an aggressor, I'd probably be drawing down on him too. Unfortunately, the article did not say exactly what the agressor had in his pocket or what made the defendant in this case believe the agressor had a gun. We'll probably never know, since for the most part, the media is widely liberal and places all gun owners in the category of "crazy, ill-mannered, short-fused whack-jobs". If the newspaper/media told the whole story, then there would leave a lot more reasonable doubt. Oops! Wouldn't want that now, would we? (LOL J/K)

I don't mean to judge anyone, and I surely don't have all the facts, but I've lived 31 years and have carried for several of those years. I have never been threatened by a shotgun, I've never had intimidating notes left on my car, I've never left a friend's residence while a fight was going on outside and the odds to needing to shoot a stranger mere weeks after starting to carry... that's just too many negatives. Leaves me with a fairly negative feeling of the shooter.

Sounds more like he needs a new attitude, a new job, a new place to live, new friends, no gun and to take some lessons on common sense.
