my g/f has one, that was her father's; she calls it Cheryl. :)

we were talking about it, and she was wondering what she could get for it, if she ever had to sell it. not that she wants to, it's just a hypothetical question.

this isn't her gun, but it's the exact same version; hers is in pristine condition.

in case she ever had to part with it, what would be a fair asking price for it?

Hard to say without seeing it.

As a guess, I'd ask for $450 for a nice looking Model 13 with a 4" barrel.

She might not get that much, but it would be a place to start. A 3" barrel gun would easily go for$450.

Sell it to me!:D My dad has been wanting another Model 13 since he had to turn his service revolver in because they switched to Glocks and the silly Attorney General didn't want "Dangerous guns on the streets"...Yeah because cops with guns are dangerous.. But I've never seen one for sale and only a couple on Gun Broker. I learned to shoot on a Model 13, she should never sell it! :)

my g/f has NO plans to sell it; it was her dad's. when her dad died, he left all of his guns to her brother. mostly 1911's, but a few S&W revolvers, as well, all from the 1980's or earlier, going back to the 1950's. the Model 13 is from the 1970's. the most valuable from the lot is an old Colt 1911, from the 1950's, that her brother carries, in the same Bianchi holster their dad bought for it in the 70's.

my g/f learned to shoot when she was a kid, but never really got into guns. she got married to a bad man, who was quick with his hands, and when she kicked him out, and filed for a restraining order and a divorce, her brother brought the S&W to her, with a box of ammo, just in case the ex decided to come around again. since then, she's become a gun enthusiast, and named the gun "Cheryl". she shoots it regularly, cleans and maintains it religiously, and has plans to acquire more, including a 1911. so, no, she has no plans on selling her gun.
