Varying levels of Retail Ninjutsu?

I've been joking around for a little while now about being a mall ninja, because I like black rifles with tactical configurations. I have a Saiga 7.62x39 that I want to convert, put an ultimak rail on it so that I can forward-mount the scope, put a light and vertical grip underneath it, and then have a tactical sling.

I think it all makes sense, but I know to a lot of people that makes me a mall ninja. So I called them gun snobs and moved on with my life

But today I was at the range and there was a guy next to me screaming over his hearing protection. I wasn't trying to be nosey, but when you scream in English I'm going to hear and understand what you are saying. He said he was proud of his target and that he had his confidence back. Well I allowed myself a little nosiness and I looked over at the silhouette he was shooting. If it had been my target, I would not feel confident at all. He was shooting from about fifteen feet away and he had holes all over the place. There might have been a little clustering over the heart of the silhouette but not much. I would go to the eye doctor if my target looked like that.

Then he told his buddy that he had two Glocks, both the same model, and that he had never fired them. His buddy asked why he would do this. There might be some reasonable answers to that question, but his answer was, "I have two hands so I need two Glocks."

So how does the mall ninja thing work? Am I a mall ninja or just someone with some retail ninjutsu tendencies. Are there perhaps varying degrees of mall ninjas. Perhaps I'm a yellow belt and he's more like a second degree black belt. Or are we all just equally stupid?

what? people can own whatever kind of gun in whatever kind of configuration they want as long as it's legal, i could care less what it looks like or what kind of shooting you might be proud of. if someone thinks they should have a glock for each hand, good for them, i don't care.

It's not what you do, it's why you do it. Do you make your weapon all tactical because you seriously think you're gonna be in some movie style shootout? Or do you just enjoy buying random things to stick on a gun? The first option points to mall ninja, the second points to just having too much money and time.

As long as he doesn't pose a threat to me, or anyone else at the range, let him shoot whatever and however he wants. An improvement, regardless if you can shoot better or not, is still an improvement. Give him a thumbs up and carry on.
