Vertical Grip for AR

FOR ME I am not a fan of any "gangster"grips for the AR, I have extensive practice but feel like they put my offhand in an "unnatural" feeling firing position. I do however like using them when firing from a barricade or obstacle cause you can use it as sort of a "stop" and lock into a good hasty firing platform. Guess its all up to personal preference, that being said this particular model I didlike the rubberized coating cause it grips well when your hands ar sweaty or in the rain. just my opinions

I've had everything from a rail mounted Magpul Miad to a tango down stubby for a VFG. I've also tried the Surefire M900 and cheap vfg's off airsoft guns. The thing that I have found that I like the most is the Magpul AFG. It really is the most comfortable forward grip out there I think.

I have one. Works just dandy if you get the one with the crossbolt instead of that one. The crossbolt is much more secure. I cut off the aluminum "locking" piece and installed a cross bolt on mine. Much better. Has an excllent feel to it. The rubber coating is easy to hang on to. Much b etter than slick hard plastic ones.

Obsolete. Some still find them useful when resting the AR on stuff though.

Magpul AFG for middy or rifle length rail systems, get that AFG out there.
Nothing for carbine length rails/grips.

I went with the Tango Down. Very solid grip. It has a place cutout so you can put a pressure switch. The bottom opens up and is a storage area. Very sturdy. Pain to get on and off the rail, but rock solid once it's there. I'm not familiar with the SOG that you're looking at, but I'm sure it is fine too.

I have a few of them and like them. Fyi, I wouldn't called that a QD VFG. A QD VFG, imo, is anything with a quick takedown lever (like the LaRue FUG or the Tango Down QD grip) that allows you to remove or install it on the rail without having to remove any other accessories already on there.
Any other grip that you have to slide over the rail and tighten it down is not a QD grip.
The original Tango Down grip is a pain to install and remove, but their newer version with the QD lever is a vast improvement.

Obsolete.
Pretty well sums it up. I have two, one on a 9mm and another on my go to gun.

It feels good in the hand, and the rubberized surface is nice, but the "storage compartment" advertised in the second like is a joke unless you have something hanging on your gun that uses AAA batteries (TV remote?). I got both of mine used for about $20 and for what I paid, I'm happy with them.
