Holy Transformers, Batman!

Wow--this is a 3-D metal cube sculpture, that can be broken down and reassembled into a .45 caliber pistol. It even has a special lock to keep its secret secure, and has a laser sight when fully assembled. I think the guy is even selling these. Very cool!

Way cool!

That takes some serious engineering skill. I hope he makes money off of this clever invention.

More info and a video. This is just insanely cool to see it in action.

I am surprised at how low the recoil is though. Or would it be more if he actually fired the powder AND a slug?

He said it was inspired by James Bond "The Man with the Golden Gun"--I can see what he means.

Apparently the single turquoise nail is standard issue for artist types. ;)

I was wondering about both those things, but the speaker volume was off (intentionally due to where I was) and wasn't sure if he explained these things.

The gun in the movie was a much simpler design. It was made out of a pen, cigarette case, and lighter. And if my memory is correct, it fired a 4.2 mm bullet. Of course, it was only a prop. Someone should try to make a functioning one. Maybe I will!

LOL!! I was just thinking the same thing!!

UHH... hold on BG. I need to disassemble this sculpture, build the gun, then
then prevent you from robbing me. :) (I know that is not the point, and am just kidding.)

That is simply amazing. I cannot imagine how much engineering and time that took to design. I wonder what something like this goes for???
