I am considering producing specialized defense oriented 12 gauge shotgun rounds that I would sell through magazine ads or the internet. The rounds would be of four types: The first two types would be #1 or single ought buckshot contained in long range steel shot style shotcups and about 3 1/4 dram eq of powder, and then the next two types would be the same as the two types above minus the shotcup for a wider spread. The shell bodies would be new and unfired.

What sort of loading equipment is out there that could handle creating these types of rounds? Is there equipment out there that is electrically powered that could produce a fairly large volume of 12 gauge buckshot loads? Does anyone out there have any experience with high volume shot shell production? Does anyone know of any supplier of shotshell cases that will custom label the sides of the cases?

Shotshell Loaders

Check out a current Gun Digest Book manufacturers list.

Check out a plastic stick on label maker for labels you can apply to any smooth shotgun casing. I loaded buckshot for my police department along with round balls with brightly colored yarn attached and #9 shot for close range home defense loads.

Ammo Load makes production equipment for rifle and handgun ammo. I would try them first. Most the manufactures know each other.

When you have time drop us an email. We may be interested in your shot shells for the store.
