I think I have about $250 in mine. A Wolf spring package is a must to reduce the DA trigger pull from about 25lbs down to less than half that.

The Marschal grips are a nice alternative to the cheap plastic ones. Ammo is readily qvailable on-line and is quite reasonable in price. Stock up on some Hornaday seld defense loads and you are ready to go.

I own the same gun in .32acp but have shot the 9x18 version many times. The .32acp is definately a more comfortable range gun but ammo price goes to the 9x18.

Great guns for the money and one of the few remaining deals to be had, even in the surplus world.

I have one as an alternate to my usual concealed carry gun. I Paid $120.00 for mine with one mag.

Sold my PA63 15 years ago. Kinda wish I still had it. I now have the CZ82. If ya get the chance, ya should do a video with it also.

Glad you like you FEG, but I consider it to be the poorest of all of the Makarov chambered guns. The quality of the build just isn't there. I would rank the CZ82 at the top with the Russian, East German and Bulgarian next, then the P83, the P64 and finally the FEG.

It is by far the cheapest though and for that reason alone it should be considered. They're also one of the lighter options of the pistols listed and are slimmer too.

They're good guns for the money and are still a value while most of the other milsurp guns have continued to increase in price to the point where there are better options, at least in my opinion. I'd also get a PA63 over another P64 any day honestly, it is just a much more comfortable gun.

Dusty,

I really like those grips.

I swapped out the cheap plastic ones on mine for hard rubber without the thumb rest, but I like that wood.
You can find the exact combo of style and wood you like at http://www.marschalgrips.com/

I chose oiled bubinga wood with the thumbrest for about $50. I also bought some zebra wood grips for my CZ85 Combat. I like the bubinga so much I think I will get some for the CZ.

As I collect more older CZ's and Maks they will all most likely sport Marschals on them. Great value and the shipping is free from Budapest, Hungary. I think I waited 4-6 weeks for both pairs of grips.

I bought a 63 and bought some new springs for it from Wolfe and it's pleasurable to shoot compared to a P64. I have a buddy who has a P64, it just seems brutal on me. Two mags were enough.

I would also take PA64 over P-64. I don't bother with Makarovs because they sell close to $300 and some go for a lot more. I can get second-hand S&W99 police gun in 9x19 ir 10 short for around $300.
I picked up S&W99 .45 with box, papers spare mag and grip inserts for $400 which is about same as standard surplus East German Makarov. I see no point in getting something in 9x18 when better offerings are available.

The prices have gone up on CZ82s by around $20. I can get one for around. They can still be had for around $220 /$240.
