I have a FEG PA-63 in 9mm Makarov, I was wondering what lubricant I should be using on the slide rails? I have been using Hoppe's No. 9 Oil, but that seems a bit thin for this purpose. It is also an aluminum frame with a steel slide, and I worry about the frame wearing prematurely due to using thin oil on these parts. So THR, What do you think?

I also bought a cheapo Uncle Mike's size 1 IWB for it today and am taking the CHL class this weekend :)

Hoppe's #9 is a cleaning solvent, not an oil. Any good gun oil or CLP (clean, lube, protect) product should work fine. A lot of guys swear by Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil. A quart of that will last a lifetime.

Sorry, meant to say Hoppe's Brand Gun Oil, :banghead: not No. 9 Solvent !

Whatever you use, use it sparingly. Semi-auto's will splatter you with oil like you won't believe.

Oh, and the 63 is a nice gun, I have one too! They really benefit from a replacement spring kit from Wolff.

Already done ;) 15 lb. Main and 11 lb. hammer springs make it a new gun :)

CLP on all my pistols including my PA63's. Any quality gun oil should work just fine. Like with all autos keep'em clean, keep'em lubed and they will work great.

i use hoppes oil on my PA-63. the aluminum has been alloyed with titanium, so the frame can hold normal function of the pistol. they are very reliable little guns, and i carry it from time to time. just stick with FMJ for self defense purposes and the caliber is adequate.

I use Loctite Anti-Seize lubricants
C5-A is copper based and good all around

Silver grade is good for Alu.

Nickle is good for S/S

These are heavy lubes and won't fly or spater off like oil or grease.
