Like I say in the caption, the "test" is not fair since I dont know how old each of these vibe cleaners are. The Dillon was given to me by my dad and I am borrowing the Midway from my neighbor so that I can knock out about 7k rounds of 223. Also, I did not measure the exact amount of brass or media I put in each. Don't really think it would matter.

it looks like the dillon has atleast two times the capacity. Im sure the midway tumbler cleans quicker, but honestly, id prefer the dillon. my current tumbler is a harbor freight cheapo that is just about as big as that midway one. I can really only clean up 200 45 or 38 cases at a time... that barely covers what I shoot each week let alone what i pick up :) . Id honestly prefer to be able to dump everything in and set it and forget it for 3 or 4 hours

playing with the torque on the wingnut that holds the lid on will usually speed up or slow down the speed with which the media/brass "turns over". it's about getting the natural frequency of the bowl matched up with the motor speed. just play around with it.

fwiw, i have found that walnut or corn cob in a rotary tumbler cleans much faster and better than a vibratory. i have a thumler's model B. i use the regular drum for wet tumbling with SS, but i also keep some improvised drums around for tumbling with dry media. the plastic bottle lysol or clorox wipes come in works well for small batches. coffee cans are good for bigger batches. i don't even put any paddles or anything in there to agitate it.

My best guess is that it is the rounded shape of the bowel walls on the Midway tumbler that is giving it the faster turn over.

What were the results? Given the same time, did one clean faster, or better?

The Midway pumps out cleaner shinier brass in 3.5 hrs. The shape of the MW may help, but the motor on it also cranks noticeably stronger vibes.
