Who are the Konyak?
They are an Naga ethnic group of the Nagaland region of India.
They are the largest of the Naga tribes that were once known as head hunters.
They occupy a district in the farthest east region of India on the border with Myanmar, and the people extend into Myanmar.
"Other unique traditional practices that set the Konyaks apart are: gunsmithing, iron-smelting, brass-works, and gunpowder-making. They are also adept in making 'janglaü' (machetes) and wooden sculptures."
This video was uploaded to Youtube on Feb. 21, 2021 so it's very recent.
In other videos it's shown how their guns are made.

In the Making Saltpeter video they said they used soil from human living. I wonder if thats the corner of the room where they go to the bathroom and save the dirt to make powder? Sorta makes sense.

This video of hunter's night life was uploaded yesterday.
It shows a hunting party cooking and eating around a campfire.
It looks like they hunt birds in the forest.

I found another youtube channel that has Konyak videos from a different village.
The vlogger lives in the last and largest Konyak village in the Mon district on the border with Myanmar - Burma, and he shares his hunt and shows views as drives a mountain top road to visit another village in Burma.

In this video he hunts in the forest and shoots a few tree squirrels and birds with his muzzle loader.
The squirrels are a lot like ours except they have reddish -brown belly fur.
He's a good shot and shows how efficient the smoothbores are for upland hunting.


Here he drives through the mountains and visits a more primitive Naga village in Burma.


He introduces himself in another language and shows us a view of the rooftops of his hometown.
