The "Sic/Semper/Tyrannus" on the safety selector rubs me the wrong way. I'm not going to say that Abraham Lincoln was a perfect wonderful person (far from it... his arrests of the Maryland legislature alone puts our current impeachment hearings to shame), but placing the words immortalized by his killer on your AR sends the wrong message IMO.

You do realize that is the Virginia state motto, no?

It’s amazing how one group or one person’s use of a phrase, image, or symbol ruins it for everyone else. People remember only the bad.

Sic semper tyrannis goes back a long way before Booth.

If I were to get one of these, what should I build with it? I have two ARs, one 16-inch and one 20-inch, both in 5.56 with detachable carry handles. M4gery and M16A4gery, basically.

Whatever you want! The sky is the limit. I have two stripped powers in the back of the safe I'm trying to forget about, but I leaning towards a Larue Ultimate Upperbkit in 6.5 Grendel and a big bore build.

It can’t be too bad since you can’t legally switch it to the “tyrannus” setting.

If you ever have to use the tyrannis setting the legality of it should be the least of your worries.
