So now it looks like Va. lawmakers plan to "grandfather" existing banned weapons in their bill.

Virginia Democratic leaders abandoned their gun confiscation proposal Monday following a grassroots outpouring of opposition to gun control across the state.

But if you read in, 2A groups are not falling for it. Can you say a well earned mistrust.

The lawmakers still plan to carry out the ban. And those who have the said guns, will have a time period to register them.

I really should close this and say to post in the ongoing threads but I will leave this as it is important news. However, please continue in the other VA threads, so we don't have 5 of them running at the same time. Thanks!

The way it stands now, the antigunners are proposing grandfathering with registration. This is unacceptable. All it does is postpone the inevitable day of reckoning (total outlawing and confiscation). Gun owners should insist, at a minimum, on grandfathering without registration. Better yet would be to drop the AWB entirely.

Or do like many others in other states and countries; simply do not comply.

Quoted. Non volent resistance first.

That's the extreme option. But I'd rather not have a potential felony conviction dangling over my head. I have a lot to lose, not the least of which is the rest of my gun collection.

This is exactly why I don't buy toys or collect guns I don't need anymore. I sold my collection. Where your treasures are, there so will also be your heart. If I have to leave home in a moments notice I don't want to be held back by material things I cannot carry nor have to lament how great my losses are. I brought nothing into this world by golly I'm traveling light out of it.

I agree, and to keep in line with the forum rules, I am NOT advocating breaking any laws
I was merely referring to those same attempts and how well they failed in Canada, New Zealand, and Australia

Ok, nothing new and I asked nicely to continue in the older threads.
