I really dont know. Our pistol range is closing down today. And moving to a new location. The guy there said that they will not have a pistol range (Gun shop only) but, in about ayear will have a Virtual Reality Shooting range. I figure that it will be like a video game type thing. No real fun in that. :( I can do that a home on the XBOX:evil:

Well, I guess im off to search for a real shooting range.:D

It's probably a 3-d thing where you put on goggles with little computer screens in them, headphones for surround sound and look like a dope pointing a plastic gun at things that aren't there.

I'd imagine that they're all the range in places where they can't have guns, like Japan and Kalifornica.

Calling a FATS (Firearms Training Systems) setup a video game is a bit like calling a Honda Elantra a race car.

I've talked to a couple of employees from there, and what they have is a very effective training tool for simulating encounters that may or may not warrant the use of lethal force. (Scenarios can be set up so that the user must make shoot/no-shoot decisions, use pepper spray, etc.) They've also got setups for the military to train in everything from basic rifle marksmanship to proper employment of things like automatic grenade launchers.

Very cool stuff.
