Virtual Training?

Fellow THRers,

I am thinking of going to a "virtual class" here in Central FL to take a course in "real life" engagements (emphasis on the quotes).

Yes, I already believe that there is nothing comparable to the real thing (meaning live ammo) and am an avid shooter (at least once a week) but the techno geek in me thinks this might at least be interesting and it's only $20 with "instruction". My travel schedule keeps me from doing week-long engagements at Gunsight or taking 3 days for an Appleseed.

It's a reputable establishment that's taking advantage of the significant military simulation industry here in CFL, plus I like FPS games so it fits my MO.

Thoughts? Experience?

Are they using FATS or something equivalent?

I have done FATS. It's not bad.

If it's the one in Viera then it's going to train you to just stand there in the open and get shot instead of moving off the line of attack or to cover. It's defective training that can get you killed.

Shawn - it's in Titusville and agreed on the uselessness of prone CQ.
