Ordered.

Makes it the same price as the standard Mil/LEO discount, PLUS the mount for free.

Not the world’s best optic, but fantastic for this price.

The reticle could be better, FFP vs SFP for the gun games would be nice, but for that price you won’t find the functionality or clarity, it’s a solid little optic and mount

Picked one up a month or so ago. Not impressed. Not at all. Glad I didn’t spend more than $300 for it. It’s like looking thru a piece of pipe with an opening way down the pipe. Not a scope snob. Usually use Leupold. Looked through some other Vortex scopes at brick and mortar stores since buying this. Don’t see what the big deal is about Vortex. They seem like any other cheap scope.

Disclaimer: Not a scope expert in anyway whatsoever. Just look through the glass and know if I like it or I don’t.

I’ve had a Strike Eagle 1-8x for ~2 years now, can’t complain for the money, and the application. What I do appreciate about it, which some folks can’t wrap their heads around, is the fact it’s a true 1x. As such, you’ll see lensing at 1x around the edge, as it’s possible to even see the bevel if you move forward out of the eye box. Some folks misattribute that to aberration and down-speak true 1x optics as if it’s an indication of poor glass. Other manufacturers often use an actual bottom magnification of 1.25-1.5x to avoid this, cheating their way around a reality of optics engineering simply because not all consumers will understand.

I had a customer back out of a 458socom upper this fall, with which I foolishly became enamored - so this Strike Eagle will take over permanent residence on that once it’s delivered.

I’ve managed all week to talk myself out of this deal along with the VX-R 3-9x Firedot at the same price through Cabela’s and the EOTech I’ve long pondered for $280 after rebate. I really need another 5k bullets and primers instead and a happy wife, so, to that end, this week’s purchase was a remote start unit and no new optics for me. I envy you guys snagging a great deal this week and I’m crossing my fingers for Black Friday staples. If you don’t mind Vortex glass, and I own a pair of Fury binos, the Diamondback Tacticals will be on sale this Friday.

Sounds like a nice deal. Earlier this past summer Midway had those on sale with a free set of Vortex 30mm rings thrown into the deal. This deal sounds even better than what Midway offered. Picked one up with the idea of using it on a .308. Bought it for the reticle which is calibrated for either .223 or .308, depending on what distance you zero it at. So far I like it and it's now on a .308 Henry Single Shot even though these scopes are primarily intended for AR platforms. I'm pretty much a Leupold guy but also have a Vortex 2-7x on a CZ-455 and that has been impressive and so far the Strike Eagle is also nice and is keeping me happy. All in all it seems like a good scope for the price.

I have a VX-R and like the glass much better than Strike Eagle glass. Between a VX-R and Strike Eagle I’d get a Strike Eagle if I did any dialing, but I don’t dial. In my limited experience VX-R adjustments are less precise than Strike Eagle though they are easily good enough to get a rifle sighted in.

This deal shows up on PSA's site month or so. I picked this deal up in in June, I think this is the 2nd time since then it's popped back up. So if you've already blown your paycheck on other stuff, I wouldn't worry too much.

I can't say much about the optic itself yet. It's my first LPVO, and they're certainly a little different than more traditional scopes. But the clarity seems OK and it's much easier to see out of this at 1x with both eyes open than I would have thought it would be.

Agree on the strike eagle.

Look through a Razor and you will see what the fuss is about.
