I have an ar 15 with no front sight, is the vortex strikefire going to be what i need. I want the dot to be where the bullet hits, in some of the cheaper red dots if you move your head the point of impact changes. This is a coyote rifle and with some of the snapshooting that ive had to do lately there isnt always time for a perfect cheekweld. I know the really expensive eotechs and aimpoints if you move your head the dot stays on target. Does the strikefire work the same way? Sorry the question is phrased all funny. I cant figure out a better way to say it. Im not sure of the terminology

As far as I know it does, a buddy has a strikefire on a 6.8spc that he uses for pigs, I have a sparc on mine and haven't noticed it.

I think what you describe is called "parallax"

I have a StrikeFire Vortex and have not noticed this problem, but I have not sighted further out than 100 yards.

The Strikefire at less than 50 feet will move and so will the Sparc but so will my Aimpoint (perceived to move but it is mounted higher) more than the Eotech...Many times because the dot moves in relation to a front sight post people think the dot is moving all around but in actuality it is the position of the line of sight doing all the moving and not the dot. Look at the cheap red dot thread here at THR. I have used the Strikefire for well over a year hunting pigs and it has been a great sight for close in popping (less than 100 yards) with an AR in 5.56.
