Vote now: CNN poll on arming teachers

I don't think that these folks should be "issued" guns, or anything, but I think a teacher, with the proper license, should be permitted to carry if they choose.

Absolutely.

I'm no longer a teacher. I've spent about a third of my working life as a public school classroom teacher and I am planning on going back within a few years. I have a NC CHP. I would welcome the idea of carrying concealed. I would even use a thumb break, though I don't like them, if that was a requirement as one additional protection from someone attempting to take my handgun. Of course, I doubt I'll get the option to carry.

They do it in Israel, and it works. I think that qualified teachers who WANT to carry should be allowed. People think that guns around kids are bad (an emotion more than real thought as it happens everyday)-the theme of these massacares is that THERE IS NOBODY THAT CAN STOP THESE NUTS. Guns in the hands of qualified individuals MAY CHANGE THAT. Columbine was a "gun free zone". I guess Clebold didnt get the memo.
I dont like the idea of guns being needed at schools. I dont like the idea of school shootings. The fact remains that this happens and we must prepare for it. To not address this means we are burying our heads in the sand for next time.

There are a couple of these polls floating around today. Threads have been opened on them on both AR15.com and FreeRepublic.com as well.

Methinks the DUmmies and Brady Bunch are resorting to chicannery. Again. :barf:

Slanted Question

The question sucks.
Sheeples: Janitors? Oh noes!!!!!111ELEVEN :what: Creepy! And with guns!

Hey CNN! Try asking the real questions in your polls:
"Do you think that teachers who are licsensed to carry concealed weapons should be prevented from doing so when they enter a school?"

Perhaps I should start a new thread. If so, Moderator(s) please take appropriate action. That said, here's a thought to shove down the liberal medias throat:

There are about twice as many guns in these United States as there are automobiles.

How many children (use the media description of children to be anyone under age 21) die by automobile, by drowning, by electrocution, by fire, and finally, by firearms? I know, it's a gruesome attitude to play on the sensless deaths of innocent children (even the gang bangers who are 19 yrs old and shoot each other) but I believe if the liberal press pushes the "statistical" argument we need to point out the absurdity of their positions.
