The House Judiciary Committe in Washington State is looking at Bill 1588, regarding Universal Background Checks. We should write to the judiciary committee and your local reps and senator to let them know we do not want Universal Checks.

However, I'm a bit new at this. What do I say when I tell them I don't want checks?

Just tell them.

I think plain language is the best bet. Just tell them/him/her you either favor the legislation or you don't. No need to get hyper, just calmly explain your opinion. I'd wager that hyper responses get thrown in the trash.

I contacted them voicing my opposition.

If 1588 actually gets implemented then any firearm purchased/transfered after, will require a full life cycle paper trail. If the paper trail is not complete then law was broken. Will only the original purchaser or the last registered owner be allowed to do a transfer? Will they then seize the firearm if the paper trail is not in order? The more I think about this the worse my headache gets...
