noob question,

Why do they need to know if ammo is for a rifle or handgun?

Because its against the law for them to sell handgun ammunition to someone under 21, so the cash register prompts them to ask.

After the last time I finally thought of one I'd like to try on them next time they ask.

Along the lines of saying "neither" I wonder how they'd react to "art project."

After all, my grandfather made a lamp out of various cartridges he found on his ship while in the navy...

Tell 'em it's for a machine gun--they'll probably have to call a supervisor to figure which button to push.

grant they only ask for calibers that tend to go for both i get asked when i buy .22wmr but not .22lr (dont under stand that one) but they dont ask me for .44 magnum or .357 they just turn me down for being 18 and they alwasys have to get a manager when i tell them its for a lever action rifle

My 9MM and .45 purchases are for my Beretta Storm carbines (yes, I own both).
Or are they for my handguns....I can never remember.
I guess that I'm over 30 makes it a non-issue!

I recently bought some 30-06 ammo at Walmart and they asked me if it was for a rifle or pistol. Go figure. I don't look 18, heck with my salt and pepper hair, I don't even look 40.

Locked Pool ?

Anybody want to bet (gentleman's) on how many posts before Justin locks this thread?
