Took my New Walther P5C to break it in for the first time today.
fired 100 rounds of Wally world white box stuff with zero malfunction. I was able to make 2.5 - 3" groups at 25 yard. But only problem is it shot about 4-6 inches high at that distance when sights are aligned perfectly. This can be easily remedied by adjusted sight alignment, but I am gonna see if I can find the replacement rear sight.
Since I am already spoiled by 1911 and Hk p7M8's single action triggers, DA-SA trigger on P5C required more effort to do precision shooting with (which is why I don't much buy Sig, USP, Beretta; A guns with solution for non existing problem). Single stage trigger is very smooth until it hangs up on the sear, but requires some force to finally trip over. It feels very similar to Beretta 92FS trigger (without the two stage), but not as smooth as Sig220s.
Due to slightly shorter grip and high bore axle, It did produce higher muzzle flip.
I must admit that I still much prefer HK p7m8, which costs $350 more than already expensive $850 Walther P5C. P7M8 is more accurate, more ergonomic, has better trigger, better sights, and is completely steel. But, 5PC has its advantages such as: cleaner to shoot and maintain, easier to disassemble, does not heat up, and is lighter (for carrying, but not for shooting). Anyway, it's German made Walther, and is very well made and cool looking. Yes, I like it, for It's all about personal taste. Is cheaper guns such as Glock better value than Walther P5C? It probably is. Will I buy Glock for $350 less? No.
