We have a brand new PPK/S that seems to have some problems double feeding and poorly extracting.

I would like to get some information on gunsmithing this gun, such as radiusing and tensioning the extractor.

Information from knowledgable persons, or direction to authoritative references on tuning this gun would be most appreciated.

My gun protects the Second Amendment, not the other way around.

I'm not the Walther PP/PPK/PPK/s guy at work ...

But if you wouldn't mind a suggestion, if it's a new S&W produced model, why not simply call and ask to speak with someone at the Walther USA part of S&W and ask them for some advice. That's what warranties are for, aren't they? Why not let them look at it and correct any problems, rather than fussing around with it yourself. They're very decent folks ...

Just a thought.

Another vote for calling S&W. At about $500, they are very pricey for .380s. You should be completely satisfied. Don't even consider custom work until the factory has had a run at it. Most times custom gunsmithing with void the warranty (it provides the factory with an out).

Since Smith and Wesson offers the same lifetime warranty on Walther products as they do on their own stuff, just send the gun back.
They will make it right.
