Still looking at .22wmr handguns. Out of these three which one do you all think would be the most reliable and best value and best quality? Out here the keltec is $389, Walther is $369, and smith and Wesson is $559. Any opinions or experience would be appreciated

I only have experience with the kel tec. I say go for it. If you load the mags properly and use the factory recommended ammo, it should run fine.

I got mine to be a fun gun, and it has certainly fulfilled that purpose.

I have shot the Keltec. The owner had ammo selection and magazine loading procedure sorted out and it was reliable, but it was so light as to be hard to steady on target.

I have handled the Smith, it feels more like a Real Gun. I haven't seen the Walther but it looks substantial. Only holds 15 rounds, though. "Only". I have shot the PPQ 22 and if the WMR is comparable, it will be fine.

I picked up the Smith and put on a Vortex Defender, could not be happier. Has not had one malfunction in approx. 300 rounds using CCI 40 grain and Hornady 30 grain ammo. One of my funniest handguns.

I've handled all three. I bought the Walther, it just felt like more effort had been spent on development and ergonomics. It also has been superb for reliability and accuracy. I think that I made the right choice. I am a huge KelTec and Smith fan, the Walther just out performed them.

FWIW, my friend Bob has and likes the Walther, but is also planning on getting a Ruger SR-22 at his next opportunity.
Thanks. I have a sr22 and love that thing. I’ve put about 2000 rounds through it from .22 low velocities to stingers, only 2 miss fires
