This is not going to be a carry piece. It's going to live in my bedside table at night and my safe by day, and go to the range with me.

After a lot of searching on the web, I've found two pistols that fit my criteria: The Sig P226 RX SAO in 9mm, and the FNX-45 Tactical in .45acp. Can anybody point me at any other pistols?

Also, if anybody has any experience with either of these two pistols, I'd be glad to hear about it. I've read the reviews of course, but any additional data would be welcome.

I'm leaning towards the FNX right now, because with their rebate program offering a free Vortex Venom sight if I purchase a new pistol before the end of the year, The FNX comes in quite a bit less expensive than the Sig.
If I had to purchase a reflex sight for the FNX they would come out to be about the same money.

Thanks in advance.

I like my FNX-45, but have no experience with the Sig. All things being equal, I would see which fits
your hand better.

Also, avoid the Para ambi safeties. They just don't work right.

The nighthawk shadow hawk, it’s stupid expensive but can be had in the configuration you want.

For a defensive pistol I wouldn’t be using s budget micro RDS mounted on the slide.
