Want to duplicate. Bullseye 2.8 with Trail boss for wadcutters

Any one find a great recipe for this combo?
148gr DEWC with Trail Boss.

Doesn't seem like an especially good combo to me, unless you like to watch the bullets in flight.

I'm with you RC, That does seem less than good.

The crazy thing is I use about 4.8 gr of TB for 125 gr LRNFP and the PSI ain't hardly anywhere near 15,000.

I shoot alot of Trail Boss in my revolvers and lever guns, but for 148 LBHWC's, I think I'll stick with the generic charge of 2.8 gr of Bullseye.

Don't you think that has something to do with the weight of the bullet ?
Also.. a wadcutter seated all but flush with the case will leave much less room between the charge and the bullet, I don't want to compress the powder. Keep in mind this load I am hoping to acheive is only for paper punching purposes.

I have handloaded/shot more wadcutters than I care to even remember. I have also probably hand loaded more pounds of Trail Boss than I care to remember as well. I was merely making a statement and trying to help. I think you concentrated on one more than the other. Either way, I know better for next time.

Hey LGB, Lighten up already!
I wasn't challenging your expertise at all.. I called Hogdon and asked about the "light" load, and their response was "THE ONLY load for 148 WC max is 2.3 gr of Trail Boss." My question was only to duplicate the old tried and true 2.8gr of Bullseye with Trail Boss because I like how clean the Trail Boss is. I apologize if I typed something in a way that was misconstrued by you as being offensive.

It seems to me that this thread got taken all out of context by somebody, somewhere along the line.

I don't think any offense was intended.

Anyway:
It appears to me that Trail-Boss cannot duplicate the old 2.7 - 2.8 Bullseye Target load velocity with a maximum load.

I think that was the point lgbloader was trying to make was all.
