Wanted Colt 1903 38ACP barrel

I am looking for a Colt 1903 Pocket Hammer model barrel (38ACP) in good usable condition. Please let me know if you have one or know were I can get one. Thanks.

Gun Parts catalog shows the 1902 barrel but not the shorter 1903. Still, I would give them a call or write.

Unfortunately, that is a different Barrel for a different Model Pistol.


The '03 Pocket Hammer, or '03, .38 ACP, is a different Frame, different Pistol alltogether from the Model 1903 .32 Pocket 'Hammerless' ( shrouded Hammer ) or later .380s of 1908 on the same Frame.



This is a very common ambiguity, when the .03 Pocket Hammer .38 ACP Model is conerned.


The '03 .38 ACP was in effect, a shorter-Slide version of the Model 1902 'Sporting' Model, itself being the continuation of the Model 1900 .38 Autocolt, sans Sight-Safety.

The '03 ambiguity, of the Date-Model refering to two distinct Pistols, has haunted everyone for ohhhhh, 106 years now.


Happens all the time.


I'm sure Colt themselves had their in-house mis-advantures or making-sures with it, and probably cussed the too easily confused similarity in name, a thousand times.

Lol...


Really, they should have named the 1903 Pocket (Hammer), the 1902 Pocket-Model...and clearity would have prevailed from the beginning..!
