I ordered a Meopta Scope on Oct 28 - Meopta Optika6 3-18x50 Illuminated MRAD 30mm FFP Riflescope Product Code: MEO653574

Their website allowed me to add it to my cart and order it.

I received a call the next day saying they made a mistake and it was back ordered and would be "in in 2-4 weeks".

By Dec 7 I emailed them and told them to cancel the order if it wasn't in hand to ship. They called me back on 12/11 and I again told them I wanted to cancel the order and a refund. They said they would refund money. I emailed them again on Dec 20 and told them I hadn't received a refund and would be telling my bank to do a chargeback. Crickets on their end and they no longer answer the phone during business hours.

Maybe they shut down for the holidays but I note they STILL show the scope I ordered as being available on their webpage.

Posting this as a datapoint for anyone considering purchasing from them - I hadn't found any negative info about them online so posting this as a warning to others that you might want to call and verify they actually have stuff in stock before tying up $$$ with them.

I did manage to get ahold of them today and they said they would issue the refund. They also said they did get the scope in stock.

I don't think they are dishonest but are slow to issue refunds.

Nvcdl, which model are you trying to purchase? I only ask because I recently purchased an Optika 6 and was disappointed enough to return it. I bought something else that I would highly recommend.

I was trying to buy the 3x18 50mm MRAD Optika 6. What did you not like about the Meopta scope and what did you end up purchasing?

I'm a little uncomfortable saying in an open forum. Due to a possible software glitch I may have ended up with a used scope by mistake.

Bottom line, the scope arrived with the turrets bottomed out all the way left and down. The glass was clear but I felt the resolution was lacking. When I emailed the manufacturer they didn't respond. It all left me feeling uncomfortable. It was the 2.5-15 FWIW.

I returned it and went with a Trijicon Tenmile. The scope exceeded my expectations in all ways and also comes with a lot of extra accessories in a sealed box. It is a 6-24. After getting the rifle I felt it wouldn't see much hunting duty and would be a tactical/target rifle. So I was cool with a 6-24. Some of the testing at the Rokslide forum influenced my decision.

I've heard good things about Trijicon scopes....

Hmm... my credit card was hacked this AM.

Bear Basin is my prime suspect (for having crappy security - not fraud) as they are the only new vendor I've dealt with lately....

Did you get your refund?

Did you buy a scope yet, and if so, what did you get and how do you feel about it?

Sucks about getting hacked. It has been more experience it is more likely to be the local gas station that you have been using for years without an incidence.

I finally got a refund after I called them back after the holiday.

I find the hacking usually occurs because a small business didn't have good computer security.

Go to Cameral Land for your scope and ask for Doug, their service and respond times are quite exception. Everyone there are very knowledgeable about their inventory.
